I loved this spot-on, affectionate comedy about a bunch of misfit struggling actors who are cast to do a production of Hamlet on Christmas eve, in a church in a rural English town-- has elements of Woody Allenish quirky, misfit characters (also similar in vein to the quirky theatrical characters in Paul Gross's great Canadian tv series, "Slings & Arrows"), but also poignant moments as well as they try to bond together to save their struggling production. Since Kenneth Brannagh uses a lot of the same cast that he used in his film version of "Hamlet", this is also a fun in-joke as well (and apparently they made this movie right after the grueling work-load of the 5-hour Hamlet to help let off steam with a fun little comedy!); highly recommended for anyone who loves the theater!

Are you a wannabe actor? Do you love theatre, supporter of the Arts that you are? You will love this. Hilarious, wonderful performances.
One of the greatest movies about the craft and "family" of the theater that I've ever seen. I show it to all my good actor friends and we quote it constantly at each other.

Please please please can it be released on DVD sometime?
